Taxes and the Growing Deficit

Have you ever asked yourself why you had to give the Government money? Ever since the early 1800s we have collected taxes from America. The income tax is one of the most profitable taxes which are in place to make up for the Governments spending. Before this time, revenue was collected through sales tax, taxing items such as tobacco or alcohol. Times have changed and costs have gone up.

Now of days our Deficit has increased, unlike the worth of the dollar. Believe it or not, but our Government spends over 1 trillion dollars a year. How do we pay for that, you ask? Our Government now believes that it has the right to ask more from the people, whether they are rich or not, instead of decreasing there spending. The left seems to think that by increasing taxes, there is not a need to decrease the spending. In other words, this means that you won't be able to keep all of the money you make.

When it is time to realize that taxation isn't a solution, but rather a problem. It isn't a hard concept to grasp that the less taxes, the more money the people have to spend. More taxes mean less money for the people to spend. Has our Government forgotten who they provide for or are they just looking out for themselves. Times weren't always like this and it is time to change now.
